Job Summary
The Telegraph is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Editor to join its award-winning team. As a key member of the editorial department, you will be responsible for commissioning and editing long-form features, interviews, and news features that resonate with our intelligent and affluent audience.
Key Responsibilities
- Commission and edit long-form features, interviews, and news features that meet the high standards of The Telegraph.
- Develop and maintain a network of contacts in the literary, entertainment, arts, and other sectors to identify compelling stories and exclusive interviews.
- Oversee the production of high-quality long reads for print and digital platforms, working closely with the picture director, art director, and visual storytelling teams.
- Identify and develop innovative approaches to content, working with creative teams across the newsroom to deliver engaging and informative features.
- Collaborate with the editorial team to develop and implement content strategies that meet the needs of our audience and drive engagement.
Requirements
- Proven experience in commissioning and editing long-form content, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality features and interviews.
- Excellent knowledge of media law and the ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with writers, publicists, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to think creatively and develop innovative approaches to content.
