Job Summary

The Telegraph is seeking an experienced Senior Lifestyle Editor to join its Lifestyle print team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for editing and publishing high-quality content for the weekend editions of the newspaper.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Features and Lifestyle print editor, deputy print editor, and senior commissioners to create, edit, and publish outstanding weekend print sections.
  • Edit copy to the highest standard and shape page layouts.
  • Work with picture desks to source the most spectacular and informative pictures to light up the page and illuminate the copy.
  • Catch errors and revise mistakes.
  • Work with the Lifestyle print team across different sections to check and revise pages as required.
  • Write eye-catching and accurate headlines, standfirsts, and captions to the highest standard.
  • Conceive creative page layouts in close collaboration with the design team and pictures.

Requirements

  • Experience editing and publishing magazines or weekend supplements at a national level.
  • A background as an editor but equally comfortable sub-editing or revising copy.
  • An interest in lifestyle and magazine journalism, with a focus on travel.
  • Experience with print publishing software.
  • A keen understanding of the Telegraph's audience and what type of headline and copy speak to their areas of interest.
  • An exceptional eye for detail.
