Assistant Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our finance team at Reed. As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the finance department and contributing to the company's financial success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Management: Manage sales and purchase invoicing to ensure financial accuracy, maintain the sales ledger and purchase ledger, and perform bank reconciliations to keep financial records in check.
  • Credit Control: Oversee credit control processes to ensure timely payments and execute bank payments with precision and accuracy.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and conduct balance sheet checks to ensure financial integrity.
  • Payroll Management: Process timesheets for accurate payroll management and complete monthly reconciliation of the balance sheet to maintain financial health.
Requirements:
  • A solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Excellent organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills for effective cross-departmental collaboration.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and solving problems.
