Accounts Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our team at Page Personnel Finance. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the accounting and finance department in St. Helens.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records and receipts, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Reconcile daily, monthly, and yearly transactions, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Support the finance department, accountants, and management team in achieving financial goals and objectives.
  • Prepare and present balance sheets, providing insightful analysis and recommendations.
  • Process accruals and prepayments, ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
  • Contribute to the sales ledger and credit control, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of organisational products and processes, staying up-to-date with industry developments.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients, responding to their queries and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
Requirements:
  • AAT Level 3/4 qualification or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of success.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and popular accounting software, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Strong understanding of accounting and financial principles, with the ability to apply them in a practical context.
  • A keen eye for detail, with the ability to identify and resolve errors.
  • An ability to work effectively as part of a team, communicating clearly and collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
