Position Overview

The North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated and skilled Band 5 or Band 6 Physiotherapist to enhance our acute in-patient physiotherapy services. This role offers a diverse range of rotations, providing an excellent opportunity for professional growth in both clinical and managerial capacities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy evaluations and formulate treatment plans for patients with both acute and chronic conditions, ensuring meticulous record-keeping as an independent practitioner.
  • Engage in the training and development of junior Physiotherapists, Technicians, Assistants, Students, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Act as a deputy for the Team Leader Physiotherapist during their absence.
  • Participate in the 7-day service rota to ensure continuous patient care.
  • Contribute to the emergency on-call respiratory rota.
  • Complete rotations across various departments including Acute Stroke, Admission Avoidance, Critical Care/Respiratory, Medical, Oncology, Elderly Care, Orthopaedics, and Paediatrics.
  • Supervise Band 5 Physiotherapists, therapy assistants, and students.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives through audit and research.
  • Collaborate effectively with Occupational Therapists to enhance patient outcomes.

Essential Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy.
  • Registered with the Health & Care Professions Council.
  • Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists.

  • Effective communication skills for conveying complex information to patients and colleagues.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities in clinical and organizational contexts.
  • Experience in supervising non-qualified staff and participating in their development.
