Lead all facets of financial reporting and oversight for the Hampshire IWM contract, Hampshire HWRC contract, and Southern Landfill operations.

As a key member of the Treatment South Finance team, you will collaborate closely with the operational side of the business.

This position will oversee a team of four Management Accountants and a Finance Assistant, managing all aspects of their roles, including setting objectives and conducting performance reviews.

Preparation of monthly management accounts delivered within strict deadlines, accompanied by thorough analysis and investigation of results and variances across various operational units, including group consolidation processes.

Regular site visits and engagement with operations to ensure precise financial reporting and support for business development initiatives.

Preparation of statutory accounts for two legal entities and coordination with Group auditors.

Ensure compliance with Group financial policies and procedures across all contracts and depots, including conducting regular balance sheet reviews.

Collaborate with clients on contract performance and adapt systems to accommodate any service changes.

Conduct financial analysis of operational data and key performance indicators.

Post-investment financial review and analysis of long-term financial outcomes.

Work alongside analysts and the Digital Transformation team to ensure the accuracy of relevant non-financial data and the successful execution of projects.

Undertake any ad hoc project work necessary to support business objectives.

In leading a diverse team, you will be responsible for developing staff and guiding them to achieve the Company's goals, ensuring accurate reporting and providing exceptional support services.

The role requires ensuring that all accounting functions are executed in accordance with company and general accounting policies and procedures.


Contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing company profitability.

Oversee accounting departments for designated areas of responsibility, encompassing all elements of financial accounting, management accounting, financial reporting, financial control, budgeting, forecasting, and supervising purchase ledger, sales ledger, and payroll transactions.


Professional qualifications (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with extensive post-qualification experience in a waste services company or similar commercial/professional environment.

Proficient spreadsheet skills - familiarity with Google Sheets is preferred, along with Microsoft Excel.

Knowledge of Workday is also a plus.

Previous experience managing a small finance team.
