As a Team Leader at GKN Aerospace, you will play a critical role in delivering operational excellence to our customers. You will be responsible for leading a team of professionals in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ensuring that we meet our People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cash, and Cost (PSQDCC) targets.

Job Summary

Our modern manufacturing facility at Western Approach is an International Centre of Excellence in composite wing structure design and production. As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of experts in the design and production of composite wing spars and Fixed Trailing Edge assemblies for some of the world's most popular aircraft.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and sustain a culture that is aligned to the GKN Aerospace 'A Great Place To Work' value drivers and Culture Principles.
  • Hold Team Members and Team Leaders accountable to embody the GKN Aerospace culture principles.
  • Be Open and Honest when appraising and managing individuals' performance, while supporting and coaching individuals to close performance gaps.
  • Provide opportunities for Team Members to play to their strengths, do what they do best, and create ongoing opportunities for learning and personal development.
  • Exemplify a safety-first mindset and ensure that the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and standards are applied, and that your assigned areas are a model of a world-class healthy and safe working environment.
  • Lead and develop your team to understand the context, mechanics, and delivery of PSQDCC targets to meet customer and stakeholder commitments.
  • Drive the disciplined and rigorous deployment of the Lean Operating Model (LOM) across your assigned area.
  • Be actively involved in problem-solving and the management system using a 'Go to Gemba' approach to solve problems with the ambition that 95% of issues can be solved within the zone itself.
  • Contribute to the Value Stream future state design and ensure its execution across your assigned area.
  • Cooperate with other Team Leaders to ensure the best performance outcomes for the entire area.
  • Hold the functional support staff accountable for adhering to the Global standards and enabling your zone team to meet its targets.
