The purpose of the role is to ultimately provide technical financial support to the Head of Financial Services and Finance Team, complying with FCA and audit regulations to ensure that College objectives and financial targets are met.

As Management Accountant within Education, you can expect to be responsible for:

- Preparing the monthly monitoring budget/ spend report; notifying the Deputy Principal and Director of HR of variances, and where necessary liaise with the members of the Leadership Team.
- Managing College financial ledgers (namely general/purchase/sales) ensuring accounts are reconciled monthly, investigating variances.
- Assisting in the production of Year End Statutory Accounts.
- Providing monthly reports for business review, attending monthly meetings to review financials.
- Budgets - monitoring, setting, virements, upload and forecasting and to assist in future demand planning.

**Experience required**:

- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role - Essential
- Experience of working in an educational setting - Desirable
- Advanced MS excel skills - Essential
- Advanced IT skills including pivot tables, V Lookup and Graphs - Essential
- Experience setting, monitoring and forecasting budgets - Essential
- Experience of contribution analysis - Desirable
- Previous exposure to audits - Essential
- Experience of monitoring and improving performance and handling competing demands of the business.

We are looking for professionally recognised qualification in accountancy (eg CIMA, CIPFA, ACCA, ICA)
