Summary
Lightsource bp is active across 19 markets with great ambitions to expand access to sustainable energy across the world. Our organisation is supported centrally through a global marketing and communications team, primarily based in the UK, and manages every aspect of communications for the business - shaping its voice and image. An increased growth area for the team is digital marketing and content, anchored by our website platform which is the fastest growing channel.
We also recognize the importance and evolution of visual communication, in growing our brand and awareness of our business across the world. The use of visual and photography is becoming even more prominent in how we communicate and as a team, we are looking to progress and innovate in this area even further. Combining both skillsets together, we have created a unique opportunity for a visually focused and driven communicator to build a career in digital marketing that has a strong focus on visual communication. This role is key to helping us achieve our ambition of creating a world-leading website platform by supporting with our CMS and 20 live websites. You will provide valuable content and CMS support, to help us deliver the high standards and objectives of the Marketing and Communications team. This role will also support the roll out, implementation and ongoing maintenance of our new digital asset management system called Canto, where we aim to consolidate all our photography and video assets as well as create an external library for use by the wider business and external partners.
Duties and responsibilities
- Understanding and helping develop our global website strategy.
- Supporting photography shoots where required and embedding visual assets to support our global content strategy.
- Creating and publishing website news posts
- Building web pages
- Maintaining CMS back-end, including translation and media library
- Optimising web content for search engines
- Providing web guidance and support to colleagues
- Reorganising and optimising the CMS media library
- Writing, rewriting, and editing web content.
- Implementing CMS solutions to increase efficiency.
- Regularly updating live content
- Content creation - writing and photography.
- Support our brand narrative through outstanding still imagery.
- Implementation and embedding of our new digital asset management platform (Canto).
- Preparing power point presentations where required
- Maintaining budgets
- Administration and event support where required.
- Liaison with external agencies
- Support on reporting
Knowledge & experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent written skills, with experience in content editing
- Understanding of SEO principles
- Knowledge of Microsoft tools (SharePoint, Teams, Yammer, Outlook)
- Experience of using content management systems (ideally WordPress)
- Creating engaging content, video production and photography.
- Conscious of changing trends in digital brand marketing strategies and how to create engaging content.
- Ability to adapt and work in a highly diverse, international, cultural environment with team members who are field-, office
- and home-based.
- Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and deadlines spanning different regions and business units.
- A flexible, engaging, self-motivated approach to work, understanding how to balance workload and priorities.
- Creating engaging content for a range of different channels.
**Qualifications**:
- A qualification in Communications, Graphic Design, Journalism, English Writing or PR is preferred but not essential.
- The role will give you broad exposure across the business as you will be working across several regions and departments. Being able to understand the bigger picture and communicate it is key to fulfilling this role.
