**JOB DESCRIPTION**
Role - Wellbeing Promoter.
Accountable to - Registered Manager/ Deputy Manager
Reports to - Registered Manager/ Deputy Manager
Aims - To assist with the promotion and maintenance of high standards of nursing care by creating a stimulating activity programme. To assist in the delivery of a full person centred holistic package of care to the individuals using the service.
**General Duties**
- To participate in maintaining the social wellbeing of the residents and help them to socialise within the home.
- To assist residents in making & receiving phone calls and face times with friends and or family.
- To encourage staff, relatives and friends to participate in the home’s activities.
- To plan a weekly activity rota, taking into account the resident’s wishes.
- To maintain full and accurate records of activities on individual care plans.
- To foster good community relations, i.e local schools etc. and assist in the organisation of fund raising initiatives within the home.
- To assist in planning special events such as summer fetes, coffee mornings and outings.
- To provide one to one attention to residents who are unable to participate in any form of group activity in their preferred environment i.e bedrooms or quite areas.
- To assist residents with their day to day needs in the absence of a carer in the communal areas. This includes assistance with meals and mobility requirements.
- To lead the lunch service in the dining room ensuring an enjoyable meal service and assistance is provided where needed.
- To work closely with volunteers within the home.
**Personal Responsibilities**
- Reporting of accidents or untoward incidents involving Residents, visitors or staff immediately following their occurrence, to the Nursing in Charge.
- To participate in Fire Training and have full working knowledge of all fire escapes, fire equipment and fire procedures.
- Ensuring the Home is a safe working environment in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act.
- Maintaining the Residents’ confidentiality at all times, maintain and respect their privacy and preserve their dignity.
**Educational Responsibilities**
- To attend relevant in service training programmes including all mandatory training, eg, fire, moving and handling, etc.
- To participate in individual performance review and clinical supervision.
**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: From £10.40 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
