- We are recruiting a **Reception & Administration Assistant** for our team at our Rehoming, advice & behaviour unit in **Newport**, to ensure a warm, friendly welcome, a positive memorable visitor experience and a first-class administration support service- We’ve just launched a new and exciting national Rehoming & Fostering team structure to support our aim of ensuring every pet enjoys a healthy life in a happy home. You’ll be joining a team who strive to be the best versions of themselves, so that they can do the best for the pets who need our help.More about the role
- Since 2016, we've been making a positive impact on our community, helping pets in Newport and surrounding areas. Our foster-based care and Home Direct Scheme ensures animals find loving homes without the stress of kennels. This means that we do not usually have pets staying onsite overnight and our roles may not include daily pet care, but no two days are ever the same.- As the Receptionist and Administration Assistant, you will be the backbone of the Centre providing important administration support to ensure all key processes are delivered in a professional and efficient way and ensure our visitors have a positive, memorable experience. Often, you will be the first person our fantastic clients see, so making a great first impression is really important.- Your working day will be from 08:30 until 17:00 on a rota including weekends and bank holidays.-

In addition, you will be able to work in an emotionally charged environment and have excellent ‘bounce back ability’ and resilience. You will be emotionally intelligent, showing empathy and knowing how to support clients and colleagues.- You will have a problem-solving mindset, be organised, and have an eye for detail as the handling of cash and maintenance of office systems forms a key part of this role. You will enjoy seeing tasks through to conclusion and be keen to get involved with new tasks as and when possible. Working in a diverse environment which requires you to be well organised but also able to re-prioritise or ‘spin many plates’ is motivating to you.**Knowledge, skills, and experience**

- Good standard of verbal and written communication.
- Strong administration skills, including the use of computerised systems.

- Experience working with volunteers.
- Experience of working with the public
