We are currently looking to recruit a full time Assistant Manager for our Adult Care Homes in Newport, this post is specifically for Blaen-Y-Pant House.
We are looking for a highly motivated, flexible and enthusiastic individual to join our management team. You will possess strong supervisory skills and have the right qualities required to lead and motivate a staff team. You will be responsible for undertaking management responsibilities within the residential home, complete staff supervisions and line management of staff
You will be a strong team player, be able to work on your own initiative, confident, motivated, computer literate and well organised. Qualified to at least Level 2 in Health and Social Care (Adults) and either already hold or being willing to undertake a Level 3 qualification is an essential requirement of the role.
You will be expected to support and provide a service for individuals that have care and support needs, specifically individuals with dementia, learning disabilities, differing mental health conditions and general residential needs. You will be expected to work with these individuals with varying degrees of abilities and understand the varying needs and how to support individuals.
You will ensure the team delivers excellent person centred care by helping each resident achieve their wellbeing outcomes on a daily basis.
You will be responsible for undertaking management responsibilities within the residential home, complete staff supervisions and line management of staff as well as the day-to-day running of the residential home. You will report to the home manager.
You will be expected to work between the hours of 6.45am and 10.15pm, in a busy environment on established shift patterns that will change in line with the needs of the service and will require you to work every other weekend. You will be included in an on-call rota system.
You will be expected to have an understanding of the relevant legislation around Health and Social care and be able to follow this legislation and support staff to understand and follow it.
You will receive excellent managerial support with training and development opportunities.
