This is very much a hands-on position that requires working within a close team for the development of menus and new food concepts, will also work alongside other kitchen team members, covering breaks, and working with the team to maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the kitchen department..
**Main responsibilities**:
- Work to maintain a SAFE ENVIROMENT AT ALL TIMES
- Reporting any faults found in the kitchen equipment.
- Prepare food orders in a timely and organized manner
- Plans and prepares food in appropriate quantities based on number of customers to be served
- Ensuring that all cooking stations are adequately stocked with the necessary meal ingredients and cooking equipment.
- Assist with training and developing new staff members (supported by the F&B Manager/ Commercial Manager if/when necessary)
- Follow correct methods of cooking, preparation, plate presentation, portion and cost control, sanitation and cleanliness
- Check stock of prepared items at the end of day and with the help of the closing cooks create a comprehensive prep list for service the following morning - Ensures proper rotation and storage of all products - In the absence of the Manager, conducts monthly inventory
- Assisting in preparing meal ingredients and supporting F&B Manger with ordering and managing stock levels
- Receives food and supply order, ensuring that products received are in good condition, checks proper deliver temperatures, product codes and that invoice list matches products received. Immediately puts perishable items into refrigeration rotating stock, marking cases with the delivery date and tagging USE FIRST items
- Readily assists colleagues with miscellaneous duties to prevent delays in the customer service experience
- Adhering to standard food rotation practices to reduce food wastage and minimize the risk of contamination.
- Assessing the quality of delivered food supplies to ensure that all meals are consistent and meet company standards.
- Ensuring guest's special dietary needs are met and any food related feedback is followed
- Ensuring the kitchens opening and closing routines are completed satisfactorily in every area at the end of the day.
- Using operational apps to record checks and monitor activity within the department.
- Other duties that may arise withinstandard adopting clean - as - you - go approach, including but not limited to staff areas, external areas, toilets, bar, kitchen, potwash and customer areas
- Work to maintain a SAFE ENVIROMENT AT ALL TIMES

- Assist Team Leader / Manager in managing stock levels by coaching the team, minimising wastage and monitoring the correct pouring and dispensing of products
- Reporting any faults found in the equipment or buildings
- Accepting and of loading deliveries
- Using operational apps to record checks and monitor activity within the department.
- Ensure that all Policies and Procedures are followed in relation to Assignment Instructions.
- Develop and maintain good working relations with teams,
- Carry out any other reasonable request from Operations Team,
- Protect company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment
- Patrol randomly and regularly - all areas for smoking, alcohol and dogs.
- Provide a high level of customer service at all times, assist customers with any queries and communicate with the relevant departments if the answer cannot be provided.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures including COSHH
- Other duties that may arise within the Operational Department.
