Responsible to: CVST Volunteer Co-Ordinator
Salary & Hours: £TBC
9.00am to 2.00pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday
**Purpose of the post**:
To purchase, prepare and cook food for people attending the CVST Lunch Club and to maintain
a high standard of cleaniness, food safety and health and hygiene
To work with your Line Manager and volunteer team to ensure that the Club feels vibrant, professional, friendly and welcoming to customers at all times.
**Main responsibilities, tasks and duties**
- To ensure the smooth running of the club by planning menus and food ordering in advance including options for dietary requirements where required.
- To oversee the pre-booking procedure and support volunteers where necessary to record diner numbers and dealing with telephone calls
- To regularly stock take and ensure stock is replenished appropriately and avoiding waste
- To order shopping online on a weekly basis
- To undertake ad hoc shopping as and when necessary
- To prepare a two course meal
- To report any defects in equipment to your Line Manager
- To ensure kitchen linen is washed and dried daily
- To ensure the kitchen and dining areas are kept clean and tidy at all times and left in an orderly condition.
- To keep up to date with basic legislation and ensure relevant records are kept for each session.
- Ensure the refuse bin is moved to the front of for collection each Monday
- Ensure the premises are safe and secured upon exit
- To attend supervision sessions and meetings as required

- To keep your Line-Manager informed on any issues affecting the service.
- To be aware of the needs of other workers, paid or unpaid, and contribute positively to a supportive working environment.
- To communicate with relevant staff any concerns around Safeguarding.
**Financial responsibility**
- To supervise volunteers and oversee the cashing up procedures at the end of each session ensuring monies are dealt with accordingly and securely.
**Knowledge and skills**
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
**Working environment**
- Some physical effort and lifting in a kitchen environment is required.

- The post holder is required to carry out the duties in accordance with CVST’s Health and Safety policies and procedures.

- Provide regular work reports to the Chief Officer and be administratively self-servicing.
- Attend in-house training as necessary.
- Use various methods of information exchange including uploading, searching and downloading information on the Internet, with training if required.
- Positively represent and promote TCVS as a whole to external agencies.
- Undertake self-servicing duties to meet the needs of the organisation.
- Undertake any other duties and tasks appropriate to the post as may be required from time to time by the Chief Officer.
