**Business Support Services Officer**

**Salary: Grade 4, SCP 7-11**

**Salary : £22,369 - £24,054 FTE**

**Actual Salary - £11,542-£12,144 Per Annum**

**Hours: 21.5 hours per week. Monday & Tuesday 8.15am - 4.00pm. Friday 8.15am - 3.45pm.**

**Contract type: Permanent - Term Time Only with all Inset Days**

**Responsible to: School Business Manager**

**This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably experienced and motivated person to assist in the smooth running of our School Office.**

**Statement of Purpose**
To work under the direction, instruction and guidance of senior staff to provide general clerical, administrative support within all areas of the school as required.

**Duties and responsibilities**:(this list is not exhaustive and staff may be required to undertake such other reasonable duties as directed and required from time to time)

**Customer Focus**
- ‘Model’ excellent professional relationships with all students, parents, staff and visitors
- Provide outstanding administrative service to all areas of the school
- Maintain high standards when managing confidential information, complying with the school’s data protection procedures and legal requirements at all times.

**Reception**
- To be an ambassador for the school when meeting parents and other visitors and act as a first point of reference when people arrive
- Undertake all reception duties, answer telephone calls and face-to-face enquiries and sign in visitors
- Maintain the visitor log book and ensure all visitors and contractors can be identified by wearing clearly visible badges
- Assist with all student enquiries, liaising with parents and staff as necessary
- Assist with student needs as appropriate during the school day.

**Communication**
- Adhere to school procedures and ensure that staff receive all messages promptly and accurately
- Update, maintain and distribute calendar/ student based communications

**Administration**
- Maintain manual and computerised records/management information systems, producing lists/information/data as required, e.g. student data
- Take notes at meetings when required.

**Publications**
- **Finance**:

- Assist in arrangements for school events/trips etc.
- Assist in procurement of services, stationery, materials and equipment
- Undertake routine financial administration as required.
- Monitor and update risk assessment as required for school trips and activities

**First Aid**
- Act as a qualified First Aider during the school day compatible with your professional training
- Monitor and maintain adequate provision for first aid equipment and be responsible for the security of such items.

**Accountability, Performance and Line Management**
- Be aware of, support and ensure equal opportunities for all
- Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school
- Appreciate and support the roles of other professionals
- Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required
- Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required
- Take responsibility for your work, encourage and accept feedback from your colleagues and your line manager and respond to or adapt to change as required
- Take an active part in the Performance Management process with your line manager
- Recognise own strengths and areas of expertise and use these to advise and support others
- Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
