The Story

The Sofa & Chair Company is the number one destination for luxury interiors, offering both bespoke and curated collections of standard luxury furniture. Our West London Showroom is the largest in the UK and offers over 140 different room-sets for customers to discover and be inspired by. We host a range of complimentary furniture brands such as Eichholtz, Giorgio Collection, Cierre and Technogym to name a few.

Over the past two years, we have been working towards our new phase and brand - Larkbury London. We’ve made significant investment in cutting-edge technology, positioning ourselves as leaders in the design world. Our aim is to launch 300 brands and 50,000 products over the next coming years to transform the online space for Interior Designers and professionals in the industry.

OVERVIEW:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Leading strategic sourcing, with UK and international supply bases.
- Bring an understanding of the target market and analysing market trends to inform smart buying decisions.
- Negotiating contracts, prices, SLA’s and terms of business with new and current supply base.
- Constantly assess and challenge supplier relationships to maximise business savings and minimise customer service issues.
- Manage and build the buying team to support their daily workload and handover knowledge to improve the team as a whole.
- Working closely with suppliers and internal departments to ensure efficient, timely supply of products.
- Working with Production and Design Teams to identify any cost savings within the product design or product assembly to improve margins.
- Ensuring that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships.
- Providing the Senior Leadership Team with regular reports and updates - to include costing analysis on all items and advising on stock levels, profit margins an lead times
- Work with Quality Control & After Sales team to reduce quality control and customer service problems

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Experience in buying within the furniture industry.
- Strong knowledge of negotiation techniques, commercial understanding and cost breakdown.
- Ability to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with staff and suppliers.
- Excellent management experience with experience motivating and inspiring teams.
- Excellent Project Management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Analytical, numerically minded and be able to demonstrate problem solving abilities.
- Proactive and able to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks and achieve set targets and dates.
- Able to work well under pressure and handle emergency situations.
- Proficient in MS Office and MS Excel.
- Previous experience of SAP is preferred but not essential.

Monday - Friday: 8.30 am - 5.30 pm

Office Based: Must be based within a 1 hour commute of the Office/Showroom

**Salary**: £40K-£45K depending on experience.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
