Animal Care Asst/receptionist

The Role

You will be caring for the animals in our centre which involves feeding, health checks, administering medication, socialisation, vet runs and general cleaning. You will be responsible for doing your part to maintain our in house database, liaising with members of the public, preparing paperwork and general office administration and taking payments.

A full clean driving licence and confident to drive to our local vets regularly using our commercial car. Be happy to 'roll up your sleeves' to ensure each animal is receiving the best care possible. Giving health checks, vet runs, feeding, cleaning, socialising with the animals and supporting with matching people to animals to ensure the best home. A great communicator with an abundance of empathy and compassion with a positive, can-do attitude

A friendly personality, who will endeavour to provide the highest quality care to the animals in our centre and be a team player. We take pride in our centre and the care we provide to the animals, and we are looking for someone who will ultimately share the same values as us.

Have experience working with animals in a commercial setting. If you are the right person for us, we will be pleased to provide you with all the training you require to thrive in your role.

RSPCA Wirral and Chester Branch is a separately registered charity to the National RSPCA, we are a self funded branch and re-home around 600 cats each year and a small number of dogs. Our staff work 365 days a year caring for our animals and we have circa 120 in our care at any one time. Applicants must be able to cover holidays and sickness, so can be called upon at short notice.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 18 per week

**Salary**: From £10.48 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 18 per week
