A business operating in the hospitality and events sector has partnered with the team at NET Recruit to support them on their search for an experienced Head of Finance to join their team in the Brighton area. This career defining position will be responsible for the overall management of the finance team, to handle key areas of financial management, reporting, forecasting, technical accounting and team management. You'll be given the tools to effectively manage your team, highlighting areas for continuous improvement and ensuring that value is added along every step of internal processes and procedures. This is an opportunity for an experienced and qualified finance professional to manage all aspects of finance, from technical accounting to commercial decision making.

**Role and Responsibilities**
- While in this position your duties may include but will not be limited to:_
- Taking responsibility for the forecasting and budgeting to supply for the Managing Director and Board and other executive level stakeholders and ensuring that cashflow forecasting is kept updated and accurate
- Preparing financial statements alongside comprehensive and informative analysis (including variance analysis) and commentary
- Providing insightful and detailed analysis regarding revenue and yield performance and costs to underpin commercial decision making and identify areas of improvement and cost reductions
- Liaising and managing external accounting professionals in relation to the preparation of financial information, the payroll function, including preparing and approving payroll reports, VAT returns and the external auditors ensuring information is gathered and supplied on time and that processes are undertaken as needed
- Overseeing the Fixed Asset Register alongside the Operational Risk Register
- Maintaining financial systems and associated information, monitoring quality and efficiency, particularly over financial transactions
- Leading the growing finance team to oversee transaction processes and functions including the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes, ensuring the debtors schedule is managed
- Approving banking payments between accounts, suppliers and employees, as in line with financing agreements and proactively managing relationships with the bank
- Completing monthly account reconciliations and develop and work to a balance sheet reconciliation schedule
- Taking responsibility for returns including the Annual Return and submissions under the Data Protection Act and Bribery Act 2010, as well as being responsible for the company and insurance papers

**What You Will Need To Apply**:
The business is specifically seeking a qualified accounting professional, ACA, ACCA or CIMA, possessing significant experience leading finance teams and overseeing day-to
- financial processes. An applicant with exposure to technical accounting, as well as supporting on commercial decision making would be ideal, as this role will encompass many key areas of standard accounting alongside analysis and the commercial aspect as well. A professional with SME experience would also be desired as well as light exposure to the events, marketing and hospitality sectors.
