The Parole Board is an Arms-Length Body to the MoJ. It is a medium sized organisation consisting of 180 employed staff and around 320 members. The Parole Board covers parole work across England and Wales, including conducting hearings and working with witnesses from the probation service, prison service, psychology as well as with legal representatives. So - we are both complex and we are interesting

You will be the Head of the Change and work directly to the COO as well as with the CEO, Leadership Team, staff and Members and support the interface and links between MoJ and HMPPS.

This is an ideal post for people who have change delivery experience and digital insights, project management skills and who have knowledge and or experience of the Parole Board.

**Job Purpose**: Delivering Change in The Parole Board.

**Scope of Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for supporting and delivering to members, staff, auditors, ALB bodies,
- Overseeing and delivering digital change projects,
- Responsible for change management, project management, considering and aligning design and implementation of complex operational dependencies for different groups and across different functional areas;
- Responsible for implementation planning to ensure the change is realistic, affordable and deliverable;
- Responsible for supporting engagement, communications and delivering presentations about the changes;
- Working with staff and members to inform and accurately interpret work across the Parole Board as well as to undertake some joint working with colleagues across the Parole system.

**Primary Deliverables**
- Designing change and overseeing the implementation of change, including evaluation and lessons learned
- Spotting and supporting areas for continuous improvement
- Maintaining a quality service across the different parole board areas: eg digital, new types of hearings, member models, wider operational changes.
- Supporting the change oversight group,
- Overseeing change management using effective project management disciplines

**Person Specification**
- Inspires and motivates others through the process of uncertainty and significant change
- Demonstratable experience in distilling complex and often ambiguous information in simple ways
- Demonstrable operational experience in change management
- High standard written and oral advice
- Experience of presenting to inform critical decisions
- Ability to objectively analyse and evaluate design, delivery and impact
- Experience of developing and delivering significant change at scale and at pace
- Resilience and ability to stay focussed and positive in the face of complexity and uncertainty
- People management experience

**Essential**
- Evidence of delivering high quality, consistent and complex change at scope, achieving value and positive outcomes.
- Experience of leading and managing teams.

**Desirable**
- Experience of working at The Parole Board, with an understanding of the digital systems that support members and hearings.

**Office requirements**

This role is hybrid. You will be required to spend 20% of your time ‘in-person contact’. This means you will be required to work at either the PB office, an MoJ hub office and or with PB colleagues, members or MoJ colleagues.

You will be expected to attend the Canary Wharf office at least quarterly for team or staff meetings. Travel for these purposes will be reimbursed for those on national (not London based) contracts

This role will require some travel outside of these requirements.
