In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales and Brackley, England.

Due to an increase in workload, we are now recruiting for a Programme Purchasing Lead to join our Supply Chain team on a fixed term / secondment basis in Cwmbran, South Wales. The role of Programme Purchasing Lead is to develop project plans for each new seat programme defining timescales, and key activities required of the external supply chain to deliver the programme, on quality, cost and delivery working as part of the Programme Purchasing Team. This role will be for 12 months.

Key Responsibilities & Duties;
- Create & Manage programme purchasing plans (Bid to Aftermarket)
- Develop project plans for each new sear program defining the timescales and key activities required during the development of the associated seats furniture
- Communicate to the strategic team the key deliverables of the programme for Quality, Cost and delivery
- Put in a place daily management routine to manage programme deliverables
- Manage supplier plans for key/complex assembles such as actuation, table, composites and high level Assembles
- Ensure that supply chain strategy is flowed down, and fully understood by the programmes team to include new technology, R&T
- Regularly review progress against these plans with the Safran Seats management team and to drive corrective actions directly with the supply chain in the event of shortfalls.

**Job requirements**:
A sound working knowledge of all Project management tools and techniques - particularly schedule management, cost.tracking and risk identification and mitigation;
A proven ability to facilitate close working relationships between Internal stakeholders and external Supply chain teams and a willingness to work as an integrated team to promote best practice and ensure Quality, Cost and Delivery targets met for the programme;
Technically aware with strong commercial background;
Experience of APQP or similar quality process;
Risk management experience & Budget Control experience;
MS Project Experience or equivalent;
The ability to read and understand engineering drawings;
Ability to communicate at all levels;
Able to work autonomously;
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships across departments, and with supplier representatives at all levels;
Energetic and enthusiastic approach to work;
Demonstrable IT literacy in MS Office Software ( Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Projects etc. ).
