Purchasing Director

We are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Manager to lead our Material Schedulers and ensure the correct materials are on site at the right time for our production facilities while managing cost and transportation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supplier performance and adherence to plan, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing cost-saving initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Material Schedulers team to achieve inventory targets and improve supply chain efficiency.
- Develop and implement the Supply Chain strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Manage inventory levels, creating plans to resolve imbalances and develop forecasts to mitigate financial impact.
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain Leadership Team to measure, analyze, and improve performance and impacts.
- Develop detailed schedules in line with the Master Production Schedule and Aftermarket requirements, monitoring critical resources and proposing mitigation plans.
- Ensure purchasing data accuracy, auditing regularly and liaising with internal teams and suppliers to maintain integrity.
- Meet with suppliers to discuss performance metrics, providing feedback and creating forecasts and capacity plans.
- Accountable for inventory management, determining how to increase stock turns, reduce waste, and optimize customer service.
- Measure and analyze performance in line with BU defined metrics, managing report creation and analyzing root causes of missed metrics.
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Supply Chain experience, preferably in a leadership role.
- Team leadership and supplier performance management skills.
- Proficiency in MRP & ERP systems.
- Knowledge of CI or Lean Methodology.
- CIPS qualification or working towards it.
- Experience in multi-site manufacturing environments.
