Purchasing Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Manager to join our team at Safran UK. As a key member of our Supply Chain Leadership Team, you will be responsible for leading our Material Schedulers and ensuring that we have the correct materials on site at the right time for our production facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Material Schedulers team to achieve inventory management goals
  • Develop and implement the Supply Chain strategy, deploying it through the team to ensure everyone understands their role in the plan
  • Ensure inventory levels are maintained within agreed target levels and create plans to resolve any imbalances
  • Contribute to the development of the Master Production Schedule and Aftermarket requirements
  • Monitor critical resources and propose mitigation plans as required
  • Ensure purchasing data is accurate, up to date, and regularly audited
  • Meet with suppliers to discuss performance metrics and provide performance feedback
  • Accountable for the management and reliability of inventories
Requirements:
  • Supply Chain experience
  • Team leadership skills
  • Supplier Performance Management skills
  • Proficiency in MRP & ERP
  • CI or Lean Methodology knowledge
  • CIPS qualification or working towards this
  • Multi-Site Manufacturing experience
