The Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) is the main representative organisation for companies involved in all aspects of the manufacture of flat glass and products and services for all types of glazing, in commercial and domestic sectors in the UK and internationally.
The GGF is recognised by government and plays a large part in influencing new standards and regulations, such as The Building Regulations, the rules that govern and control the way our buildings are constructed in the UK.
The GGF has a vacancy within the Membership department for an experienced Training Officer with extensive knowledge of training management. The post holder will be responsible in promoting the training offerings of the GGF to its members and the wider industry, and to attract new clients/customers into the sector in support of the GGF Member Value Proposition.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Promote the glass and glazing sector to schools and colleges as a career pathway for school leavers and new entrants into the sector
- Promote the glass and glazing sector to job centres and other employment agencies as a career pathway
- Assist GGF staff with the development of the Skilled Pathways Scheme and training courses in general
- Develop a range of hard copy and digital literature for the courses and modules offered through GGF Training with the support of marketing
- Be the main contact point for day to day operation activities with the GGF training partner
- Promote GGF Training offerings to members and non-members with the assistance of marketing
- Have overall responsibility for the maintenance and administration of the online training platform used to deliver GGF Training courses
- Work with technical working groups to develop bespoke training for our industry
- Attend careers events and exhibitions to promote GGF Training
- Assist the GGF and members to obtain funding for training
- Facilitate the full training cycle from booking and enrolment through to certification
- Prepare training materials and documentation as required
- Assist in delivery sessions as required
- Facilitate training courses including sourcing and booking appropriate venues, arranging lunch, teas, coffee etc. as may be required
- Effectively liaise with all stakeholders including trainers, training partners, government agencies, delegates and internal departments as required
- Maintain accurate records and produce reports as required
- In depth understanding of Apprenticeship Schemes and NVQs
- Understanding of knowledge skills and behaviours and how they would be assessed.
- Understanding of mid and end point assessments to be carried out internally and externally.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of funding streams, income diversification, and maximisation of opportunities.
- Effective record keeping and reporting
Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and communicate a range of projects and tasks
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to communicate clearly at all levels
- Experience of speaking to or presenting information to a group internally and at external forums
- Experience in promoting the business/products to external stakeholders
- A recognised teaching/training qualification at level 3 or above, or equivalent desirable
