We are seeking experienced and knowledgeable adjudicators from diverse backgrounds to join our team as Patient Complaint Adjudicators. In this role, you will be responsible for impartially and objectively assessing patient complaints, evaluating evidence, and making fair and informed decisions.

**Key Responsibilities**
Review and analyse patient complaints, including relevant medical records, documentation, and any additional evidence provided.
- Conduct thorough investigations by gathering information from various sources, such as healthcare professionals, patients, witnesses, and other involved parties.
- Assess the merits of each complaint and determine the applicability of relevant laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines.
- Evaluate the impact of the alleged incidents on the patients' health, safety, and overall well-being.
- Employ strong analytical skills to identify patterns, trends, and underlying issues that may require further attention or action.
- Conduct interviews and hold meetings with involved parties to gather additional information, clarify details, and facilitate resolution when possible.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all adjudication activities, including decisions, findings, and supporting documentation.
- Provide clear, concise, and well-justified written decisions, outlining the rationale and legal basis for each adjudication.
**-**Assess appropriate “settlement” when required.

**Qualifications and Requirements**
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., law, healthcare, social sciences) or equivalent experience. Advanced degrees are desirable.
- Prior experience in adjudication, dispute resolution, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare systems, medical terminology, and legal frameworks pertaining to patient rights and complaints.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to weigh evidence, consider multiple perspectives, and make sound decisions.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and concisely.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing and assessing documentation and evidence.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to navigate sensitive and emotionally charged situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines.
- Discretion and integrity in handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Familiarity with relevant legislation, regulations, and codes of conduct governing patient complaints and healthcare practices (varies by jurisdiction).
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, policies, and procedures.

Note

This is not a full or part-time role. Once selected you will join the adjudication roster and case allocation will depend on number of complaints that the company is servicing and matching the complaint to the adjudicator that provides the best match.
