About the role:
As an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Lead, in the People and Culture team, you will focus on delivering Coleg y Cymoedd's commitment to ensure that all colleagues, learners and visitors feel that they can be their authentic selves while they're here. This opportunity has come about due to our Strategic Leadership Teams unwavering commitment to our challenging Equality and Diversity strategic plans in respect of all protected characteristics. We are fully aligned to Welsh Government's commitment to an anti-racist Wales by 2030 and the Equality and Diversity Lead will play a critical role in that.

Key Duties:

- Support the Director of People and Culture to oversee and ensure the effectiveness of our EDI strategic action plan, and other associated plans.
- To work collaboratively with colleagues and other internal or external stakeholders to coordinate and take forward the College's anti-racism action plan.
- Develop initiatives and policies that support the College's EDI strategy.
- Provide timely, well-informed and relevant information to all managers and colleagues seeking guidance on matters of EDI policy and procedures.
- Lead on identifying training or support needs for colleagues and leaders based on interactions and research both within the college and with external agencies.
- Undertake meetings and implement actions relating to Carer's Passports (for working carers) and Access Passports (for people with long term health conditions or disabilities).
- Provide information, guidance, data and support to relevant committees and working groups as required, including the Equality and Diversity group.
- Undertake Equality and Diversity Impact Assessments on all new or reviewed College policies.
- Produce written materials, guidance and presentations of a reputable quality, suitable for sharing across the College.
- Stay abreast of all relevant changes in employment law, best practice guidance or sectoral developments, advising relevant stakeholders where required.
- Maintain data dashboards for reporting on key protected characteristic management information, across all areas of people management e.g. Learning and Development, Recruitment and Selection.
- Work collaboratively with the People and Culture team to drive cultural transformation by contributing to the design of EDI programmes, initiatives and events (internal and external).
- Assist in building manager capabilities and awareness of EDI matters. conversations and meetings.
- Undertake an EDI ambassador and advocate role for the college in internal and external conversations and meetings.
