**Head of Compliance Acquisitions & MGA - ARDYA857973 - National**

**Purpose of the Role**

This exciting remote based opportunity has arisen to join a growing Risk & Compliance (R&C) Team, reporting to the Chief Risk Officer. This role is two-fold.

The MGA segment of Ardonagh Advisory is a complex and diverse business covering a broad range of regulated activities to brokers, acting as agent of the insurer, for a range of general insurance lines to clients and customers for primarily commercial businessand a range of distribution methods. The first part of the role is to be Head of Risk & Compliance taking responsibility for the second line of defence for this business area.

Additionally, you will be responsible for the second line of defence having Risk & Compliance oversight for acquisition streams as the Head of Acquisitions / Integration across the wider Ardonagh Advisory platform.

**What you will do**

This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities. Collaborating with your line manager, you will develop your own objectives but focus on all of the following:
As the Head of R&C Commercial MGA:

- Work with business management and the CRO to ensure that all regulatory, operational and conduct risks that impact the business are identified, assessed and have appropriate controls that are appropriately monitored.
- Ensure that there is on-going assurance of and adherence to relevant Group Policies and Business Standards.
- Support and challenge business management so that all regulatory risks which (may potentially) impact the business are identified, assessed and have appropriate controls to manage and mitigate, which are appropriately monitored and reported.
- Provide independent risk and compliance support across the allocated primary business areas, whilst facilitating an excellent working knowledge of regulatory risk requirements within the business through strong communication and training.

As the Head of R&C Acquisitions:

- Act as ambassador for R&C with potential acquisition targets and outline expectations of our R&C Frameworks with vendors.
- Complete due diligence on target acquisitions to identify regulatory risks, routes to mitigation and reporting.
- Lead on R&C activity for the onboarding and initial adoption of Ardonagh Risk and Compliance (ARC) framework adoption by new acquisitions into the business.
- Develop the ARC adoption plan whilst commencing the roll out of the R&C control frameworks.
- Deliver the risk and regulatory reports to relevant acquisition and integration committees.
- In respect of our governance and reporting, collaborate with our Group Governance and the Chairs of any executive committees and drive the agenda for any integration board committees.

For both roles:

- Support the embedding of the Risk & Compliance Framework and ensure compliance with policies and business standards are assessed and maintained.
- Work with the business first line to ensure risks and controls are identified, validated and documented.
- Assess/maintain appropriate oversight of 1st line of defence controls with particular regard to Quality Assurance, Complaints, Training & Competence, Conflicts of Interest management, and breach reporting.
- Analyse relevant MI to identify gaps in risk and compliance issues and undertake root cause analysis to highlight underlying trends and identify and track actions.
- Preparation of MGA Board packs and/or discussion papers for segment or Group committees as required.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Extensive knowledge of the FCA’s Rules (relevant to general insurance intermediation)
- Relevant industry qualification or extensive experience in a position regulating general insurance intermediation.

You will need to be able to prioritise your workload and meet deadlines in a dynamic and ever-changing environment. Meticulous attention to detail, investigative, problem solving and logical reasoning skills are needed as well as the ability to work with,train and lead others.
