Key Worker required to work with challenging and vulnerable Looked After Children 16+. Passionate and motivated to work with young people to help support them towards independence. Car driver essential, as support will regularly be carried out in service users' homes in various locations. Good communication skills essential for multi-agency working. Previous experience or relevant transferable skills desired, as well as a minimum Health and Social Care NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. Enhance DBS check will be carried out.

Some of the duties include:

- To take young people through the induction process and help them settle into their new environment
- To monitor all aspects of their progress towards independent living
- To prepare young people for appointments, reviews, planning meetings, Court hearings and to accompany them where appropriate
- To provide advocacy and support throughout their stay with us
- To inform young people of their rights under the relevant legislation
- To assist young people in developing their independent living skills
- To ensure that their health needs are addressed, such as registration with GP’s, dentists and opticians, and to monitor their physical and mental health well-being
- To support and advocate on behalf of the young person
- To ensure all young people have access to academic and vocational education, training, employment and ESOL provision where appropriate
- To promote the young person’s views and wishes
- To provide regular keywork sessions
- To maintain accurate records of the progress of the young person
- To write progress reports
- To carry out comprehensive assessments
- To work in partnership with external agencies
- To promote social inclusion
- To ensure Atlantic Lodge’s policies are adhered to at all times
- To highlight the need to adhere to health and safety legislation
