Are you committed to encouraging people to study engineering? Are you able to communicate effectively with people from a diverse background, including school students? The Department of Engineering Science (central Oxford) is seeking to appoint an Access and Alumni Administration Officer to support the Department’s Access programmes (involving work on Access, Widening Participation, and Student Recruitment). This is a permanent post based in central Oxford.

You will work closely with teams of colleagues supporting student administration, and communications, events and marketing, to provide support for the departments’ access activities.

In addition the role will involve liaising with individual alumni, colleges (where appropriate), industrial contacts, and engineering related organisations (internal and external), to support and coordinate activity of mutual benefit. This part of the role is also crucial in supporting students to explore their career options and assist them in preparing for life after graduation.

Hybrid working is available, and the role may require occasional weekend/evening work.

You should have previous experience working in outreach/communications/events management or a related administrative role. Excellent customer service skills are required as is the ability to work sensitively and flexibly with young people from a variety of backgrounds.
