**Job description**

This is an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Bookkeeper. We are looking for a friendly individual to work in a small Accounts Team to undertake the bookkeeping role including general accounts, Sage Payroll, Purchase Ledger as well as preparation and completion of monthly management accounts.

**About the Role**:

- Preparation of monthly accounts for the hotel and liaising with Hotel Auditors and Accountants
- Working with Sage Software & HR systems (Accounts and Payroll), processing data as itemised below.
- Office Based, Part time - 32.5 hours per week over 5 days; Monday to Friday

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Purchase ledger - entering invoices, recording payments, and reconciling accounts.
- Perform matching of supplier invoices with PO receipts.
- Analyse Bank accounts and Bank account reconciliations.
- VAT returns and HMRC payments.
- Credit control.
- Processing payments and receipts.
- Reviewing monthly statements.
- Overall responsibility, working alongside a colleague, to maintain Sage Payroll & HR Systems.
- Posting P&L & Balance sheet journal entries.
- Gathering data and producing reports.
- Daily, weekly and monthly reporting.
- Inputting Petty Cash and Credit Card transactions.
- Monitoring spending and budgets.
- General administration duties within the accounts department
- Proactively Communicating with suppliers and staff at various levels

**Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Requirements**

You'll be self-starter with excellent time management skills and join a busy 4-star Inverness city centre hotel with a friendly can do team.
- You must have experience within a similar role, including Sage Payroll and HR Training Systems, Pensions and HMRC.
- You must be a good communicator, problem-solver and produce high standards of work while working to strict deadlines.
- You must be confident in helping, guiding, and assisting colleagues as well as the General Manager and Managements teams with finance-related requests.
- This position would suit someone who is accurate, competent and reliable.
- Consistent attention to detail is important, as are good organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to use own initiative while enjoying a monthly routine.
- Strong data inputting skills and a confidence working with computers
- Experience of Sage Accounts and Sage Payroll, hotel experience would be a bonus.

**Experience**:

- Bookkeepers: 3 years (required)

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £15.70-£16.64 per hour

Expected hours: 32.5 per week
