Supply Sen Teaching Assistant

The Supply Room is looking for a TA with experience of Special Educational Needs (SEN).
You will be working in mainstream schools that have a pupil with SEN needs. Your role will be varied but generally you will be providing 1:1 support for the pupil both in and out of the classroom.
Here are some of the things that you may be asked to do:
- to ensure engagement and interest with the class materials.
- to provide an intervention outside of the classroom if the pupil is not settling into the lesson well and initiate an activity that will re-engage the pupil for the lesson This is normally a game or a run around to settle the pupil to be ready to head back into the classroom.
- to support the pupil during lunch and breaktime as well.
- to provide support to a small group of pupils or to provide general assistance to the classroom.
The Supply Room now offer additional free training. We run CPD certified online courses for a wide selection of SEN and additional needs that you may meet in a school environment. We also run Team Teach Level 2 during the half term and end of term holidays.
No qualifications beyond Grade A-C in GCSE Maths and English are **necessary**, any further qualifications are appreciated. You should highlight any experience you have with children and adults with SEN needs on your CV, with a short paragraph or with a cover letter.
