Job Title: Head of Professional Education Meditec

Reports to: Head of Meditec

Department: MED

Principal Purpose

The principal purpose is to create strategies and activities to improve the skills, productivity, technical knowledge of both MEDITEC employees and product users.

The Head of Professional Education is expected to establish the training and development needs of both the organization’s employees and each customer segment/group deploying the activities and resources required to deliver the relevant training requirements.

The Head of Professional Education will both directly and indirectly promote training initiatives that build employees’ job effectiveness and technical expertise from onboarding training plans to ongoing technical competency improvement.

The Head of Professional Education will also align internal strategies around official accreditation requirements for both employees and external professional education delivering a seamless and documented training structure to support such requirements.

Principal Elements
- Proven experience in Professional Education including hands-on coordination of multiple training events in a corporate setting
- Coordinate and support execution of Professional Education programmes, including agenda development, logistics planning, appropriate use of internal resources, post-event deliverables and accountability
- Work with Marketing & Heads of Strategy & Marketing in advance of new solution/product launches to ensure Internal team have completed required competencies and that there is a training package to support Customer understanding and use of the technology
- Develop and maintain relationships with Zeiss ambassadors as well as internal stakeholders
- Develop measurable project plans with clear objectives, milestones, resource requirements, and deliverables
- Work with the Global Medical Education Agencies to localise education curricula that are consistent learning objectives/clinical messaging across the MED business sector, to ensure alignment with global downstream efforts.
- Identify and build strong partnerships with professional bodies within Microsurgery, ophthalmic and optometric bodies that align with targeted customer populations; work to manage appropriate Zeiss support of joint efforts
- Evaluate education programmes in tactic-by-tactic efforts as well as annual business impact; work with vendors to develop high-quality and objective performance measurements to ensure the achievement of organizational goals and performance benchmarks
- Refine and implement strategic goals and undergo regular evaluation of current programmes to confirm that the needs of current and potential customers are being met and that programmes and service offerings align with division and business sector strategic goals
- Leverage expertise from within the organisation to accomplish operational and education objectives for external stakeholders.
- Manage the recently employed team of Clinical Installation Technicians along with External Contractors who provide Product Clinical Training for customers

Location
- May be field based however regular travel will be expected to include attendance at exhibitions and Training events

Performance Measures

Annual appraisals to be undertaken by Head of Meditec and objectives set for the forthcoming year.
- Extensive knowledge of learning management systems and web delivery tools
- Proven ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate)
- Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods and techniques
- MS Office proficiency
- Advanced organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments
