**ADPH YH Advanced Practitioner Fellowship Programme**:
We are delighted to launch recruitment for the next round of the ADPH Yorkshire and the Humber Advanced Practitioner Fellowship programme.

This programme will give three advanced public health practitioners from the Yorkshire and the Humber system an opportunity to work on behalf of our regional Association for Directors of Public Health (ADPH) network.

The fellowship is a 1-year part-time programme (i.e., 2.5 days a week secondment alongside their current roles) where each of the fellows will lead on one of the ADPH YH Priority Ambitions. Fellows will be supported by a dedicated personal development programme and mentorship opportunities.

The aim of the programme is to develop future public health leaders with skills in working across complex systems, spanning organisational boundaries, and influencing regional work programmes to reduce health inequalities.

Applications are invited from those with several years public health experience working at advanced practitioner level in Yorkshire and the Humber local authorities and other organisations from across the regional public health system.
- To promote inclusive and wellbeing economies.
- To address climate change and sustainability.
- To improve life chances for children and young people

For more information regarding the Advanced Practitioner Fellowship programme, please refer to the attached _guidance document_.

It is anticipated the secondments will commence from September 2024 onwards. We request that all applicants have the support of their local authority Director of Public Health, or senior line manager if from a different organisation, prior to applying.

**Background and purpose of the role**:
Public Health Advanced Practitioners play a key role in forging partnerships with and influencing all key stakeholders within their specialist area of responsibility.

The ADPH YH Advanced Practitioner Fellowship programme aims to build on this key role and develop future public health leaders with skills in working across complex systems, spanning organisational boundaries, and influencing regional work programmes.

We are seeking to appoint three enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about the health and wellbeing of the Yorkshire and the Humber population and wish to gain experience working at a regional level.

**Principal accountabilities**:
Each successful fellow will be matched to one of the three ADPH YH priority ambitions.

The ADPH YH Advanced Practitioner Fellow will be expected to:

- Plan, organise and co-ordinate the work of the priority ambition to deliver desired short-term objectives.
- Lead the formulation of medium and longer-term plans for the priority ambition.
- Translate objectives into operational plans and initiatives and manage their effective delivery.
- Work collaboratively with a range of agencies and partners to develop innovative solutions to the priority ambition.

For more information on the work of the previous Fellows in this programme, and to view their short VLOGs on their experiences working on the programme, please visit the ADPH YH website here - Our Shared Ambitions Our Shared Ambitions (yhphnetwork.co.uk)
