**Main Purpose/Context**:
An exciting opportunity to join Boeing Defence UK (BDUK). This important high profile position will provide expertise and support to BDUK’s MoD Information Services (IS) Programme and associated Functional Teams to develop and drive a sustainable Continuous Improvement (CI) culture and that strives to achieve World Class Productivity and Quality Performance. As the focal point and representative for Continuous Improvement within MoD IS Programme this role provides facilitation, coaching, mentoring, development of training materials, delivery of training, assistance with complex problem solving and delivery of high value / high impact CI initiatives.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Providing expertise in Lean / Agile / SAFe Continuous Improvement methodologies and approaches
- Coordinate the governance of the Continuous Improvement Programme through management team forums and Lean Ambassador Communities, including running the monthly Continuous Improvement Board (CIB)
- Advocate the development of the Lean capability within the MoD IS Programme through utilisation of the BDUK Lean Ambassador Programme
- Partner with Quality Teams to support the deployment and continual development of Quality Leadership Review (QLR) standard to drive improvements to first time quality across the MoD IS Programme and business assigned areas
- Partner with teams and provide hands on support in problem solving to enable the delivery of high value / high impact CI and CRI initiatives, including facilitating large scale step change improvement initiatives and developing business unit level productivity improvement plans and strategies.
- Assist the MoD IS Customer Relations team in building suitable evidence packs to present at performance and incentive reviews in order to show exceptional partnering and collaboration behaviours.
- Assist the MoD IS DST team where required and appropriate when developing future strategies.
- Assist in the development of High Performance Work Teams across the MoD IS Programme and other assigned business areas
- Utilise the Company’s World Class Productivity and Quality System of tools and methods as well as any new best practices that could be used to enhance the existing suite of tools

**Preferred Competencies**:

- Highly skilled in coordinating cross functional teams and an expert practitioner of collaborative working techniques
- Highly skilled in developing and delivering training materials in Lean and other continuous improvement methods and systems
- Advanced stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and build strong professional relationships at both senior management level and shop floor level
- A good understanding of Quality Management Systems and supporting regulatory bodies
- Experienced coach and trainer with proven ability to transfer knowledge in the development of others
- Competent in using MS Project & the MS Office products in general.
- Expert facilitator in leading improvement activities from 1 Day Kaizen events to 5 Day detailed organisational step change / value stream mapping events.
- Proven expert in a variety of Lean / Lean Agile and Process improvement systems and associated methods

**Preferred Education & Experience**:

- Experienced in coordinating and delivery of Lean / Continuous Improvement Education Programmes
- An appropriate education within Information Services, Software Development, Data Analytics and Quality Systems would be advantageous. Certifications in Lean Agile and Process Improvement Systems will be expected.. A Bachelor’s and or a Master’s degree in a related discipline would be viewed as advantageous to compliment significant practitioner experience at a Senior Level
