**The Opportunity**
Reporting to the Cash & Payables Manager, the Cashier will ensure the accurate & timely processing of customer receipts for Landmark Information Group Limited and contribute to the smooth running of the credit control team and finance teams.
The role will involve:
- Ensuring prompt and accurate processing of customer receipts by:
- Processing daily cheques/BACS/other electronic receipts received.
Importing details of payments received to customer accounts on the computerised sales ledger on a daily basis.
Ensuring that customer receipts are accurately allocated to sales invoices.
Reconciling cheques and BACS imported to the daily banking amount and resolving any differences and
Processing customer refunds and returned cheques.
- Preparing and agreeing the bank reconciliation on a daily basis, ensuring completeness of information and investigating and resolving any differences.
- Accurate and timely posting of payments going out of the bank based on information received from the rest of the accounts team.
- Electronically filing customer remits and correspondence.
- Supporting the rest of the cashier team during busy periods/holiday.
- Maintaining awareness of the work of the rest of the finance department and actively seeking to provide support and information wherever appropriate.
**About You**
Confident, proactive with strong communication skills. Proactive with the ability to use your initiative, make improvements and organise your own workload.
You will also have/be:
- Good educational standard - Minimum 5 GCSEs or equivalent, AAT would be an advantage.
- Recent accounting experience, including operation of computerised accounting systems (eg Sun or Financial Force).
- Strong administration skills.
- Experience of bank reconciliations.
- Successful experience within a busy cashier team.
- Experience of working within a changing environment.
- MS Office including Excel.
