Join Our Supply Team

As the home of iconic brands such as Baileys, Guinness, Smirnoff, and Johnnie Walker, at Diageo we source, produce and deliver 6.5 billion litres of world-leading products every year across 180 markets globally. Because of this huge undertaking, we rely on highly advanced systems as well as the very best talent to make sure our businesses continue to run smoothly. To give you some idea of the scale of our operation, over half of our 30,000 employees work in our supply chains. We have teams in over 100 sites across more than 30 countries, but what matters is that wherever you work, you’re part of a diverse, inclusive team where there are opportunities for everyone.

Whether you work in planning, logistics, technical teams or manufacturing, you’ll be part of an innovative, dynamic organisation. We set ourselves the highest standards, and our practices have earned us international recognition. And it’s people with energy, dedication and problem-solving skills who’ll help us get even better. In return, we offer a world of opportunities for you to explore, to shape and progress your career.

Context

Diageo is undertaking an ambitious transformation journey including a global transition to the newest version of SAP (S/4 HANA) powered by RISE (Project Voyager), redevelopment of our reporting and analytics landscape and a number of process specific initiatives. This ambition has caused us to rethink our relationship with processes and data, and systems and develop a new process & data ownership model led by Global Process Owners (GPOs), assisted by Global Process Leads, across all key domains within our business taxonomy (processes). These roles will be critical to our long term success and allow us to ensure that process decisions are cohesive, standardised where possible and use the best thinking within CPG in terms of digital and future solutions.

Role Dimensions

The Global Process Lead (GPL) role will have ownership of L2 process within Logistics for their domain globally and will be the key contributor in defining the taxomomy and language used to describe relevant processes, ownership of process health definitions / metrics / tracking, as well as responsibility to define what initiatives (including data and digital) should be initiated to support the improvement of processes.

Another key aspect of the role will be process mapping, ensuring controls are in the right place and effective, and documenting our processes so there is a single source of the truth. The GPL role will also act as a data owner for the domain and will be accountable for ensuring that the data structures underpinning the process and resulting reporting and analytics are fit for purpose and well maintained.

For Project Voyager to succeed it is critical that this taxonomy is established within Diageo and the GPO / GPL model is set up effectively. Diageo’s global processes are fragmented and often tailored to regional or market practices. Establishing the Process Ownership framework is the basis of driving standardisation within Diageo - which will mean a significant behavioural, cultural and possibly (to a smaller extent) structural transformation. All operation elements of the business will be forced to adapt and revise what they do.

The role will be accountable to the Global Process Owner who ultimately has accountability for the processes and is reportable to the Global Process Executive

Functionally, the key accountabilities for each process owner are:
- Key Contributor for the Logistics Process Council in the logistics process area- Maintains process integrity and lead the process improvement within key priority areas- Define and develop actions to improve process health KPIs- Address process pain-points via improvement plans- Improve process compliance in-line with Diageo’s Control Framework- Recommend changes applicable global policies within the process- Understanding where process exception exist in the business- Connects business strategy and goals and KPIs on end-to-end processes- Drives continuous improvement and innovation culture in collaboration with supply chain functions etc.- Size and inform the overall data and analytics strategy for logistics process area
