The Role

Reporting to the Student Recruitment Marketing Manager, the role offers the opportunity to support the development and implementation of a range of projects to broaden the SAgE Faculty’s student recruitment marketing activity.

You will work as part of a team to achieve student recruitment targets through the development, implementation, and evaluation of marketing plans to attract and convert home and international, undergraduate, and postgraduate students, in line with Faculty objectives. You will support the delivery of on-campus/online recruitment events, such as Open Days and Offer Holder events.

You will have experience of campaign planning and delivery, and of creating engaging content and copy for print materials and use across a variety of digital channels. Experience of data analysis and interpretation is essential to ensure marketing activity is based on market insight.

Key Accountabilities
Support the development, implementation and evaluation of effective marketing and student recruitment plans to attract and convert home and international, undergraduate, and postgraduate students, reflecting School, Faculty and University priorities and objectives.
Undertake a range of data analysis and market intelligence/research activities to inform product development, marketing strategy, campaigns, messaging, and events including:
Gathering, analysing, and interpreting data/trends to identify opportunities
Competitor analysis
Applicant survey analysis
Current/prospective student focus groups
Create content/copy for print materials and for use across a variety of digital channels ensuring it is relevant, informed by market insight, engaging and employs SEO principles in order to maximise reach.
Support academic Schools in the delivery of on-campus/online recruitment events such as Open Days and Offer Holder events, with responsibility for:
Using market research/intelligence to inform programme design
Creation and evaluation of applicant communications and event webpages
Provide expert professional marketing advice and guidance to academic schools within the Faculty, delivering a proactive, responsive, and professional service to support them in meeting their student recruitment targets.
Represent the Faculty and University at student recruitment events in the UK and overseas.
Work closely with colleagues across the University to ensure consistency, coherence and impact of approach across all marketing and student recruitment activity.
The post holder will be required to be flexible and adaptable as priorities and responsibilities may change as the Faculty, academic units and the University respond to sector challenges and changes. The post holder will be expected to undertake any other duties appropriate to the grade as requested.

The Person

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Experience of working in a marketing and/or student recruitment role
Experience of developing, implementing, and evaluating marketing plans and activities
Experience of collecting, analysing, interpreting, and reporting accurately on data and trends
Experience of using digital/web marketing and analytics tools to report on campaigns and of using data to make recommendations for improvement
Excellent copywriting, editing and proof-reading skills and experience of creating engaging and accessible content/copy
Experience of commissioning digital content for a range of platforms and channels
Excellent project, time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload, work under pressure and to meet multiple deadlines
Outstanding attention to detail and proven ability to perform accurately and effectively under pressure
Ability to use initiative and adopt a creative approach to problem solving
Desirable
Experience of working in the higher education sector within a marketing or student recruitment role
An awareness and understanding of current issues policies and processes relating to marketing and student recruitment in higher education
