Compass Partnership Worker

Bristol, United Kingdom South Gloucestershire Council Full time

**How you'll make a difference**:
You will support families, helping navigate them to the right early help support, at the right time and by the right person, so as to enable children and families to resolve their own issues before the need for a statutory intervention from any partner agency

**What will you be doing?**
- You’ll help families and professionals navigate to the right information, advice, and guidance, at the right time and as early as possible when problems emerge.
- You will be an essential link for our partner agencies; supporting them with advice regarding early help including the Early Help Assessment and Plan (currently known as SAFeh), Team Around the Child/Young Person/Family and Lead professional approach.
- You will support partners to build capacity (skills, confidence, and motivation) to provide early help for children, young people and families in the community
- You will work with partner agencies to explore how to link the family to the most appropriate level of support. This could be by directly providing advice, through the wider early help partnership or Preventative Services.
- You will ensure that children, young people and families are at the centre of planning and involved in decision making that affects their lives.
- And you will work with the wider community to develop a ‘think ‘early help’ culture and will be pro-active when considering how to provide support for children and families

**What we need from you**:

- You will have considerable experience of working in a children’s services setting and knowledge of current legislation and practice relating children’s services.
- You’ll have good interpersonal and communication skills, including good relationship building skills to effectively communicate with service users, staff and partner agencies.
- A good general level of IT skills and the ability to use or be trained in the use of appropriate software packages.

Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post.

**How a career at South Gloucestershire Council is different**:

- We value our staff as individuals, investing in their careers and we are recognised for the quality, breadth and depth of our **training and development** offer, which helps make the greatest long-term difference in work.
- We trust our team to work in the way which allows them to make the biggest difference and we continue to **invest in technology** to help staff do their jobs to the best of their ability and **celebrate innovation.**

Our teams at South Gloucestershire Council are making a real difference to the lives of people who live, work and learn here.
- We're building and shaping communities which people are proud of
- We're working with the most vulnerable in our community to help them achieve what they want in life
- We're investing in our schools to ensure every child and young person in South Gloucestershire achieves their full potential.

We've achieved a great deal, but we need talented and dedicated people to ensure we continue to make a difference.

**We’re making a difference, be part of it**

Interviews will be held on 29th August 2023.
