Qualified Childcare Assessor

Covering Birmingham area/s - with a mix of face to face, office visits and remote work.

39 hours per week

£25,000 to £26,000 DOE

We are delighted to be working with a leading Childcare Training Provider dedicated to providing high quality and professional apprenticeships in Childcare. Working in partnership with employers and further education colleges to provide relevant and valuable training to develop the future generation of professionals.

Offices are based in London and Birmingham, but we can support businesses and apprentices throughout England.

**Main Purpose of Role**:
The Trainer/Assessor has the main responsibility for the delivery of high-quality training and assessments in an agreed time scale to nationally recognised standards. You will be responsible for monitoring Apprentice learning and progress throughout the programme and reporting progress in the agreed format, meeting agreed reporting deadlines.

**Essential Requirements**:
*A1/CAVA or equivalent Assessor Qualification.

*3 or more years work experience and assessing within a Childcare setting/sector.

*Ability to manage and prioritise workload - up to 40 learners/caseload.

*Mixture of home working, in the office one day per week and face to face meetings with Learners.

*Understanding of relevant Key Performance Indicators.

*Understanding/knowledge of EPA and ESFA.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**People**:
*To deliver classroom-based and workshop sessions to Apprentices.

*To ensure each group is following the agreed program and schedule.

*To actively support fellow members within your team

*To report Apprentice issues to the Curriculum Manager

*To address any unwanted behaviours and classroom management issues following the agreed procedures

*To mentor Apprentices to achieve and learn professional skills required for the workplace

*To mark all Apprentice assessments and feedback to the individuals

*To continually review and develop support resources for Apprentices.

*To ensure your own skill sets are kept up to date and relevant.

*To promote an open safeguarding culture, where the protection of Learners is at the forefront.

*To be vigilant in your response and reporting of safeguarding concerns and disclosures

**Quality**:
*To monitor the progress of the Apprentices assigned to you - caseload 40 Learners

*To ensure necessary assessment of Apprentices and reporting of any issues to the IQA Manager

*To ensure Apprentice registers are taken daily and any absence reported to the Learner Support Manager

*To maintain appropriate tracking systems and procedures relating to quality, compliance, management, delivery and assessment

*To ensure your compliance with business systems and procedures

*To carry out Apprentice reviews as required

*To attend all meetings and workshops as necessary to carry out your role effectively.

*To work within and acknowledge all Health and Safety procedures relevant to the Academy and continually re-enforce to Apprentices.

*To adhere to Equality and Diversity procedures and re-enforce to Apprentices.

**Contract**:
*To maintain 85% retention and completion of Apprentices

*To ensure relevant paperwork is used correctly at all times.

*To ensure that the whole assessment process is followed and that Apprentice portfolios are complete and up to date.

*To ensure that all the compliance and process requirements relevant to your role of funding partners are met in full.

*Remain up to date with any changes with the framework, qualification and assessment processes.

**Key Objectives/KPI’s**
- 85% retention and completion of Apprentices
- Delivery of all required guided learning hours for the project.
- It is imperative that all documentation related to funding and audit requirements are 100% accurate and to ensure that all claims are made on time to the relevant funder.
- Delivery of the training and required assessment to be timely and in line with the scheme of work
- To complete all mandatory Safeguarding CPD and feedback by the deadlines set
