**Job summary**:

- We are currently looking for two HR Advisors to join our busy HR team.
- The purpose of these roles is to provide proactive, practical, and consistent support and advice on HR policy, procedure, best practice, and legislation, as well as payroll, pensions and all other matters relating to employment at The National Archives. In effect, the postholders will be the first point of contact for people across the organisation and will support individuals with the aim of helping to ensure that the experience of working at The National Archives is a good one.
- The first role is that of HR Advisor and Workday functional Lead.
- In addition to the role of HR Advisor, the post holder will also lead on Workday (our integrated HR and Finance system). This will include coordinating feedback regarding what’s working and what’s not working for the HR team, making changes where able, and liaising with the HR Systems Lead for more complex issues and changes and training new starters in HR on Workday HR Operations functionality and ensure all training and quick reference guides are kept up to date.
- The second role is that of HR Advisor and Policy Lead.
- In addition to the role of HR Advisor, the post holder will manage the HR and Wellbeing policy review schedule to ensure that all policies and procedures are up to date and in line with best practice and Civil Service policies and will work with HR Business Partners and other key stakeholders to support the design and implementation of new policies.**Job description**:

This is a full time post. However, requests for part-time working, flexible working and job share will be considered, taking into account at all times the operational needs of the Department.

A combination of onsite and home working is available and applicants should be able to regularly travel to our Kew site.

**Person Specification**:
Essential criteria:

- CIPD Level 3 or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- Experience managing disciplinary, grievance, attendance and performance cases.
- Confident and articulate communicator, able to build rapport and trust with people at all levels.
- Experience using initiative in problem solving and decision making on issues with some degree of complexity, able to exercise good judgement on when to escalate.
- Proven ability to manage own time and prioritise work.
- Experience of HR systems and reporting, including MS Office products.
- Experience of Workday (essential for the Workday lead and desirable for the policy lead)
- Experience of designing and coordinating HR policies (essential for the policy lead, desirable for the Workday lead)

Desirable criteria:

- Experience working in a unionised environment.
