**About the role**

We're looking for a Senior Legacy Management Officer to join our specialist team.

You'll be responsible for
- managing a caseload of residuary, life interest, discretionary and high value legacies, including those which are contentious, identifying and resolving complex case issues, such as tax, probate, trusts and property
- ensuring we have received and accounted for all the funds for each legacy generously left to the NSPCC, in a timely, sensitive manner, maximising estate value wherever possible.
- managing the Legacy Management Executive and provide mentoring to team colleagues, sharing your knowledge and supporting professional development.

We'll rely on you to liaise confidently and sensitively with solicitors, co-beneficiary charities, executors, friends & family etc. protecting both the income and our reputation.

You will also deputise for the Head of Legacy Management where required and proactively contribute to a collaborative and highly effective team.

**About you**

To carry out this role successfully you will
- have significant experience in Legacies and Estate Administration, both contentious and non-contentious, with significant knowledge of Probate and Trust Law
- be self-motivated, highly organised, have strong attention to detail, the ability to research and have a solution-focused approach
- be able to effectively supervise and support your direct line report as well as positively contribute to the overall team
- have excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills in order to manage relationships with professional and non-professional executors, as well as next of kin and claimants

You will also hold a recognised legal/ legacy profession qualification such as a Solicitor, ILEX, STEP, ILM Certificate in Charity Legacy Administration (CiCLA)/ Diploma in Charity Legacy Management.
