**Hourly rate**:£12.03 per hour; £12.53 per hour paid from your start date, if you have already achieved a Level 3 NVQ Diploma or above, or when this qualification has been achieved.

**Hours available**: 35 hours per week, 3-week rolling rota
Are you a caring person who is passionate about wanting to make a difference to the lives of children and young people in care?
We are looking for a new member of staff to join our team of care workers at our Grimsby-based children’s residential home.
It is desired, but not essential, that you have experience of providing compassionate primary care to adults or children or caring for a loved one, perhaps as a parent. Don’t worry if you have no experience, you will be provided with a full programme of training and support.

You will need to be warm, empathetic and have a desire to support our children with developing their communication, practical and day-to-day skills.
The children in our care have Autism, learning difficulties/disabilities and challenging behaviours inherent to this, and complex needs. Some may also need help with their personal care or maybe just pointing in the right direction. Our team are all calm, kind, conscientious people that take care of our children’s every-day needs.
As a team you will help to encourage our children to maintain and learn new social, educational and life skills. The personal care that you provide for our children will respect their rights to privacy, dignity, and individuality.
The work is varied and interesting, with two days never the same You will be ensuring that the home is clean and safe by undertaking household tasks, such as washing, ironing, cooking, and assisting with personal care and administering medication.
This is a role in which attention to detail really counts and one that touches the real lives of people every day.
You would be expected to be a good listener and show a genuine interest in the children’s needs, so being an effective communicator is key to the role.
We are looking for staff who are honest, dependable, and reliable, who use their initiative to optimise the children’s care. You must show a willingness to learn and be able to commit to ongoing training.
It is of primary importance that you understand what confidentiality means.
The post requires the completion of documentation so you must have basic numeracy and literacy skills e.g. level 2 or equivalent.

**Who are we?**
Our children’s home was established in June 1998 and is situated in Grimsby. The Registered Manager has been in place since 2007. Children in our care have inherent challenging behaviours related to their physical and/or learning disability.
We have an excellent reputation for providing the necessary training to support children’s care needs. This includes training in ‘Makaton' and 'Pecs’, ‘Attachment and Trauma’ and ‘Caring for Autistic Children’. We are committed to caring for children in a creative, innovative, and imaginative way to help the children in our care achieve their full potential.
