To deliver casework outcomes within the Regulatory Authority team, ensuring that our powers are exercised correctly, proportionately and in a timely manner.

As a Case Officer, you will make a difference to the charitable sector, through our role as a regulator, helping to improve public trust and confidence in the charitable sector.

You will be working in a varied and interesting case working role in our fast-paced, customer-focussed environment. You will work independently within a wider team, managing your own caseload and identifying priorities to achieve effective and timely case outcomes.

You will engage with continuous learning, receiving structured and specialist training. This will enable you to grow your expertise within a regulatory environment and take responsibility for making risk-based decisions.

**Job description**:

- Manage a substantial and varied operational caseload, making risk-based regulatory decisions in line with guidance, business rules and legal advice.
- Engage with charity trustees, charity advisors and stakeholders to ensure that charities comply with and discharge their statutory duties in accordance with charity law.
- Work with external partners and stakeholders, including government departments, regulators, law enforcement agencies and others, to enable and support regulatory outcomes.
- Support the assessment of new work entering team queues, moving it to the right team or individual for consideration and action.
- Where appropriate, gather management information and identify and log faults in relation to Digital Service Activities.
- Work within the Commission’s quality assurance framework, seeking feedback and learning in order to develop and contribute to an environment of continuous improvement.
- Take responsibility for own development and decisions, including workload and capacity, seeking input and support as necessary and appropriate.
- Be aware of and contribute to the achievement of Directorate and team targets and the Business Plan.

**Ability**
- Ability to make effective and reasoned decisions within a legal and policy framework.
- Ability to research, investigate, analyse, and organise often complex information to inform and support decision making.
- Ability to manage a caseload independently by planning, prioritising, and working collaboratively to meet demanding targets and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) - ensuring that the information is accurate and understood by the target audience.

**Technical**
