**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The principal responsibilities of the post will be as follows,
- Take ownership for the pre-mobilisation of large single and multi-site remediation projects to values more than 3 million.
- Lead in the management and delivery of large multimillion development and remediation projects, responsible for project delivery, budget, project appointments and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Ensure a detailed commercial understanding of the relevant contract requirements is maintained.
- Manage and maintain stakeholder relationships (both internal and external) across complicated workstreams, ensuring contractual obligations are met.
- Ensure the complete delivery of technical scopes specific to project specifications.
- Mitigate risks and facilitate the decision-making process.
- Negotiate and manage contract requirements to completion.
- Manage and own contractual relationship with Main Contractors and appointed representatives.
- To lead where necessary across a multitude of projects.
- Provide detailed progress reports for essential stakeholders and in line with project requirements.
- Communication_
- To work constructively with a wide range of staff in pursuit of the business objectives and fulfilment of its plans.
- To communicate with a wide range of individuals and organisations, to include the Investors, University representatives, including Health and Safety, business departments and technical contractors, consultants.
- To build close working relationships with the Executive Team and senior teams and to nurture a strong sense of teamwork among managers and staff in the overall business.
- To liaise closely with senior staff in the planning and consultation processes relating to strategic and major operational developments and to communicate such plans and activities in a range of forums.
- Teamwork and Motivation_

To ensure the provision of strategic leadership for, and the effective management of large-scale projects, ensure key stakeholders interact appropriately and work collaboratively towards the common goals of the business.
- To provide strategic leadership and direct management of major strategic capital projects across a broad range of multi-disciplinary functions
- Responsibilities extend to the leadership of major project teams involving the chairing of meetings of senior technical project staff, main contractors, and consultants, including senior staff both external and internal.
- To ensure a high quality of service is maintained, through strong client stakeholder relationships.
- Liaison and Networking_
- A significant degree of autonomy will be afforded to the Project Director role to maintain links with faculties and departments as required across the business. In addition, the postholder will be expected to maintain close links with other institutions, sectors and relevant professional bodies and will be expected to represent the business with confidence and assurance in a range of professional contexts.
- To establish and convene, as necessary, relevant functional groups within the business.
- To participate, as appropriate, in internal groups and meetings.
- To contribute to the dissemination and sharing of best practice within the business
- To chair specific Project Groups as required.
- To represent the business on relevant national committees and contribute to the work of working networks and national professional bodies as appropriate.
- To chair meetings of external contractors and consultants to ensure the effective coordination of projects including large scale, high value new builds and refurbishment projects.
- Service Delivery_
- To provide a range of high-quality services to the business, students and other clients across the national estate.
- To provide, procure and develop effective project management services, based upon the highest professional and business standards.
- To provide advice and guidance to the business on all aspects of health, safety matters and to ensure legislative compliance with all health and safety requirements.
- To demonstrate and promote a strong service ethos.
- To be aware of and adhere to any business requirements in respect of diversity and equality within the organisation.
- Decision Making_
- To be directly responsible for providing informed, timely and accurate advice to the business on all major projects, for example, providing detailed
