**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Provide creative and strategic editorial leadership to expand capacity, grow and network the customer base, and continue creation of successful products, thereby growing the output of the department by adding headcount
- Collaborate with internal team members to develop presentations and marketing materials to support business growth
- Manage the editorial team across disciplines, both from a high level as well as micro level as necessary, supporting team members in bid development, resourcing projects, problem-solving, meeting project objectives, and client relationships
- Monitor team's performance and status across all projects, ensuring that projects are running efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards
- Oversee the editorial budget and ensure projects are managed profitably according to organizational business plan goals
- Maintain ed pub/ed tech expertise through ongoing research and professional development to advise the organization on possible business leads and to support successful product development

You should have the following experience and skill sets:

- Deep K-12 industry knowledge and awareness of educational trends
- Knowledge of how to develop bids and price editorial work
- Experience with managing teams and implementing best practices in product development
- Experience with analyzing project requirements and hiring contractors with the appropriate expertise
- Experience in partnering with sales and marketing colleagues to create successful client presentations and relationships
- Classroom experience via teaching or observation
- Willingness to tackle complex, often unfamiliar editorial requests
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple short
- and long-term projects to meet deadlines
- Ability to work under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to collaborate across functional groups to problem-solve and develop efficiencies
