Our work enables the UK Parliament to run smoothly, function efficiently and operate transparently. When you join us in this exciting new role, you’ll be a key member of our Product Directorate team, helping to drive digital transformation, innovation and improvement across the Directorate.

With a well established background in finance reporting and possessing superb analytical skills, you’ll provide management, tracking and day-to-day monitoring of Directorate-wide finances and reporting, implement new financial processes, and be instrumental in designing and evolving our working practices. These will balance Agile ways of working with the need for transparent and useful financial reporting to be used across PDS and both Houses of Parliament.

We’re currently shifting towards a product-centric operating model, and with this in mind you’ll work closely with your colleagues to support the compliant management of finances and ensure the Directorate provides relevant financial information and assurance. Ensuring all financial administration activities are carried out in a timely and effective manner, and working with delivery leads and teams to forecast and profile costs, you’ll also:

- work closely with the leadership team to ensure resource and capacity planning is aligned to financial forecasting and management, supporting them with resource forecasting and helping maintain team complements
- help to build new financial processes and uniformity across Product, ensure finance trackers exist across teams and assist with building and tracking the costings of multi-disciplinary teams
- work to continuously improve financial management and tracking processes within the Directorate, helping to build and embed new financial management processes across Product
- ensure capitalisation processes are followed, and track and monitor capital costs
- coordinate monthly corporate reporting activity, working with finance colleagues to ensure deadlines are met and information is tailored to specific audiences
- collate information and data and use it to produce reporting for a wide range of audiences, ensure it is shared in a user-friendly format, and pull out key themes and relevant analysis
- advise delivery teams on the level of detail, content and data required for reporting purposes, and ensure this is consistent across the Directorate
- participate in the selection, design and testing of tooling which will support the automation of financial management or reporting
- work with teams to track contracts and contract managers across Product, and promote and assist with processes when contracts are due for renewal

**What You Need**

If you’ve got experience of financial management, reporting and analytics with a complex directorate, and the ability to accurately monitor large volumes of data, then we want to hear from you. Flexible and adaptable, you should also have:

- great collaborative and team playing skills
- the ability to manage and influence stakeholders and build effective working partnerships with third party suppliers
- a desire to seize opportunities and continuously improve our processes
- excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly across a wide range of organisational boundaries and stakeholder groups
- the ability to focus on outcomes while challenging and improving processes
- an understanding of the importance of adding value
- the skills to influence and make positive change
- an understanding of Agile ways of working would be desirable
- the ability to pass security clearance, backed by the right to work in the UK

**About The Team**

The Product Directorate team is made up of 65 people and has multi-disciplinary representation from development to content design, user research to testing - and plenty in between. You’ll be working with smart and creative professionals committed to unlocking digital for Parliament, delivering for users and supporting a thriving democracy. We’re a new Directorate in PDS, and when you join us you’ll have the opportunity to shape your role towards the things you’re passionate about as you work to transform the ways we work.
