**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**1. ADVICE DUTIES TO INCLUDE**

(a) Caseworkers to provide Welfare Rights advice to clients to the Legal
Services Commission Specialist Quality Mark (SQM) Level _(required for all casework services at Riverside Advice)._

(b) Caseworkers to support clients up to, and including, review, tribunal level and court if required.

(c) Caseworkers to provide assistance to clients on an appointment and outreach basis

(d) Advisors to provide and contribute to holistic Welfare Rights Advice services to clients in line with funders criteria and requirements.

(e) To keep accurate and confidential client case records

(f) To abide by the Terms and Conditions and associated policies and procedures of the employment contract.

(g) To abide by the procedures as set out in the Office Manual.

**2. OTHER DUTIES**

(a) To attend case management and staff meetings.

(b) To attend General Management Committee and sub-committee meetings if required.

(c) To attend regular supervisory sessions with the relevant supervisor or manager.

(d) To contribute to regular reports for funders and the General Management
Committee.

(e) To attend training required for the execution of the above advice duties.

(f) To attend meetings and conferences relevant to the contract when required.

(g) To submit accurate weekly time-sheets

(h) The post holder is required to work in a flexible way and undertake any other duties reasonably requested by line management which are commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of this post.

▪ Experience of delivering Welfare Rights services

Welfare Benefits / Debt / Housing.

▪ Caseworkers to have attended training in Welfare Rights; Welfare

▪ Experience of maximising client income

▪ Experience of keeping accurate client records and statistical records.

▪ A good standard of communication skills in English.

▪ Experience of and/or ability to deliver services to vulnerable groups

▪ Experience of and/or ability to work at outreach locations

▪ To demonstrate organisational skills, including working on your own initiative, planning, prioritising and managing your own workload, and meeting targets.

▪ To demonstrate ability to work as part of a team with colleagues and management.

▪ A commitment to equal opportunities and the principle of dignity at work
