Are you passionate about providing high quality patient-focused care? Join our Medical Examiner Team as a Band 5 and see where it could take you.
The Medical Examiner’s Office is a hosted service by acute trusts (and a small number of specialist trusts) on behalf of NHS England (NHSE).
This role would require you to participate in the medical examiner's team with the aim of improving the processes of death certification and referrals to the Coroner.
Engage in effective, compassionate, complex and sensitive communication with the bereaved and users of the service.
Effective verbal, non-verbal and written communication with all members of the clinical and medical examiners team.
Provide advice to the bereaved and other users of the service including Health Care Professionals involved in the patient's care, HM Coroner’s Office, Registrars, and the Bereavement office/advisors.
To maintain clear and effective channels for communicating and co-operating with all departments, wards and relevant professionals.
To discuss the content of the medical certificate of cause of death (MCCD) with relatives of the deceased and in all cases, collect or seek additional information.
Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is now one of the largest in
the country, with a workforce of approximately 15,000 who serve a
population of 1.2 million people.
We work together, and in conjunction with MSE Health and Care
Partnership, to deliver excellent local and specialist services, to improve
the health and wellbeing of our patients in a compassionate way, and
provide a respectful, but vibrant place for staff to develop, innovate and
build careers.
From facilities through to consultant specialists we want to be the best,
to achieve this we need to recruit not just those who are the finest in
their field but also those who have the potential to be. Yes, experience
is important but so is outlook - if you are dynamic, forward-thinking and
enthusiastic we want you to join us.
We not only offer you a good working environment with flexible working
opportunities, but also the opportunity to develop your career with
access to appropriate training for your job and the support to succeed
and progress.
