An exciting opportunity has arisen within our team as a Medical Secretary and Admin Lead.

We are looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking individual who is capable of prioritising workloads and handling stress within a busy office environment. You will be required to work as part of a team, have a flexible attitude to work and provide cross cover during periods of absence within the Division.

Type clinic lists/ reports/ statements/ general correspondence. Manage Consultant clinics using the available trust systems, Medway, CED, ICE and System One ,and attend departmental meetings to take, type and distribute the

Adhere to administrative procedures, to meet patient care and staff, input data into the departmental information and Organise flow of work,

Assist in clinical governance/ audit procedures by liaising with the audit department, and multi-disciplinary teams

Set up and maintain filing. Keep patient hospital medical notes in good order, check and update patient details on hospital systems, as appropriate.

Provide cover for other members of staff within Medical Specialties as may be required from time to time.

Arrange patient’s outpatient appointments using Medway/ E-referral/ Call centre/System One and inform patients of appointments by post / phone and re-arrange appointments or adjusting clinic times if required to do so by either patient, manager, or doctor request.

Lead on new admin related projects within the Division

Coordinate the workload within the neurology department

Deal with enquiries from patients and relatives either by phone or in writing. Provide patients and relatives with information and advice where appropriate and under the supervision of Medical Staff.
