The pandemic has had a big impact on the way our service functions and now we are looking to develop, expand and innovate, which you could be right in the heart of. This is an exciting opportunity for you to use your clinical and leadership skills to ensure our services run smoothly and efficiently whilst continuously striving to improve and develop the service for the future needs of the patients.
We are a small hard working team within the field of both Respiratory and Sleep Physiology. In this role you will work closely with the Respiratory Consultants and Head of department to ensure the smooth running of the Respiratory Physiology service.
You will also support the development of our staff and service by providing regular training and ensuring high standards are maintained. This is an exciting opportunity to use your skills to drive the Respiratory Physiology service into the next phase of the NHS recovery plan.
Your role will also involve supporting the team to ensure provision of the Sleep Service and by participating in sleep study analysis and provision of CPAP therapy.
This post is based at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust which provides services across both Chorley and Preston Hospitals therefore you will be required to work across both sites. We are a tight knit team providing outpatient Respiratory and Sleep services to a large local area.
Our Respiratory team is part of the ‘Lancashire Chest Centre’ which offers tertiary services in several sub-specialties of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine. You will be joining a thriving team which comprises of 15 Respiratory Consultants across the two hospital sites.
You will play a key role in the delivery of the Respiratory Physiology Service at Royal Preston and Chorley District Hospital with support from the Head of Department. You will play an active role in supporting the day to day running of the sleep and respiratory physiology services. This will involve setting up and analysis of home sleep studies, initiation and follow up of CPAP therapy and performing full lung function tests. You will also play a key role in quality assurance and training of junior staff.
You will be self-motivated, well organised, have excellent interpersonal skills. You must have a flexible attitude and the willingness to travel between sites.
