**About the Head of Distribution job
This role is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic company in a very exciting market. We are looking for a Head of Distribution to take ownership of our final mile delivery operations, with a focus on driving continuous improvement across our core metricsas well as designing a roadmap for our long term strategy / expansion. This role is all about helping us to understand the economies and opportunities of owning the final mile whilst making sure we are delivering an absolutely world class experience to ourcustomers. You have significant experience building and scaling delivery operations and strive to be the beacon of innovation, having the gravitas to deliver on your ambitious plans and building a team around you focused on excellence.

**What you will be doing**:

- Taking ownership of our own fleet pilot, ensuring we over-achieve on our target metrics and make it an overwhelming success
- Owning outbound operations at our Nuneaton site, implementing best practices through the introduction of new technology and processes
- Developing the long term distribution strategy, with a focus on scaling our final mile operations
- Focusing on delivering a world class experience to our customers
- Supporting the planning and execution of new site launches, focusing on outbound excellence
- Working closely with our supply chain planning and production teams to ensure a seamless and efficient production schedule that meets all 3PL connections
- Negotiating new contracts with existing and new suppliers to reduce costs / expand services
- Supporting the wider business with any ad hoc / development requests
- Ensuring the highest H&S standard are maintained across our operations
- Introducing new technology to improve practices across the function / business (eg route planning software)
- Working closely with our Logistics Director to build and define a long term scalable distribution strategy

**Who you are:
- At least 7 years management experience in distribution or a related field
- Experience building, developing and expanding final mile operations
- A solid network of suppliers who can support our final mile operations
- A demonstrable track record of reducing costs and errors in an operational environment
- Clear understanding of the UK logistics industry with contacts across key suppliers
- Ability to deliver large scale development projects E2E, with strong people skills to engage and motivate stakeholders

**Shift/Hours of Work: Monday-Friday 09:00-18:00**

**Location**: The Beehive, Bermuda Industrial Estate, 1 St Georges Way, Nuneaton, CV10 7JS and occasional travel to our London Head Office
